T’ was on a dark an' stormy night
in the land of old Foy-ee
A woman’s spouse was lost to her
in a wild tempestuous sea
She stood upon a rock on high
A - gazin' O'er the blackened sky
She stood alone until the dawn
A tattered shawl about her drawn
A thunder clap
A flash '0' light
The storm went on throughout the night
An' as the dawn came creepin' on
Across the stormy sky
The folk of old Foy-ee - did look
Upon the rock on high
