"HORIZONS"
WAX ARTWORK
BY
MICHAEL HUYTON
Michael J Huyton was born in Nairobi, his awakening nurtured by the pulsating rhythms, exotic colours, sounds and smells of Africa. Those formative years shaped his future as he now paints life on an experimental canvas, forever pushing through the boundaries of convention - in harmony with the earth's organic force.
Indeed, an early awareness of nature was reflected during his school years as intricate, finely detailed illustration supported his various writings. After studying at the Joseph Wright School of Art in Derbyshire, Michael continued a formal education before reading Botany and Zoology at Hull University. A chequered working career followed, which included horticulture and landscape gardening.
Now in his mid-thirties, this talented artist lives in Tintagel, a village steeped in mystique as an ever changing vista of light dallies with panoramic views of the Cornish coast.
"Everyday is different," said Michael, "This is the heart of king Arthur country, a place to unfetter the imagination as one is challenged to capture moments ethereal."
